For a special gastronomic taste journey, I would like to invite you and your partner to the opening of the Öttevényi Castle, by Dr. György László Government Commissioner will solemnly hand over. We invited to the event all the head of a prominent businessfood and the presst too! I would be delighted if you would honour us with a visit!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE A CHEF'S DUEL?

The main attraction of the opening will be a special chef duel, where Suga Péter, the chef of Húsevő Bisztró, and Attila Szabó, the owner chef of Tioman Restaurant, will compete. Both chefs will be preparing a six-course tasting menu, which will be served at an informal, good-humoured standing reception. Klaudia Varga and Martin Bárdy, master pastry chef duo, who have returned from their study trip to France, will make the taste journey even more colourful with a dessert presentation. In addition, we will open our spectacular Havana Club bar, where bartender Gábor Bíró will enchant our guests.

Both chefs will be preparing a six-course tasting menu, which will be served at an informal, good-humoured standing reception. Zoltán Széles and the Kvin Operetta will entertain you during the tasting. The tasting will be enriched by a dessert presentation by Klaudia Varga and Martin Bárdy, master pastry chef duo, who have returned from their study trip to France. In addition, we will open our spectacular Havana Club bar, where bartender Gábor Bíró will enchant our guests.

Suga Peter, a master chef of exceptional talent, Olympic silver medallist, World Championship gold medallist and a recognised judge at numerous cooking competitions. He started his career in Miskolc, where his early successes quickly defined his professional path. In the capital, he worked in famous restaurants such as Gundel, Paradiso and the Kempinski. Currently, the kitchen of the Flesh Eater Bistrounder the leadership of the Földváry-castle Executive Chief-as takes care of the about the food served. Afrom a'la carte cuisine in addition to its achievements has also set up its own cooking club, further contributing to the home to enrich the gastronomic world. 

Peter's duel moves:

  • Smoked beef tongue layered with asps, foamed tongue cream, brown bread, fresh horseradish, pea shoots 
  • Angus tartare balls, avocado, red onion, dijon mustard seeds, retro bread rolls 
  • Duck liver ganache with quince, tokaji sauce, blackcurrant noodle crust 
  • Transylvanian chicken soup in mini:
    spicy meatballs, vegetables, fresh tarragon

  • Duck breast with cuckoo grass, mashed sweet potatoes, artichokes, onion sauce 
  • Tenderloin with tarragon, eggplant, mushrooms, chips, rouille

Attila Szabó has worked alongside some of the world's most renowned celebrity chefs, and has acquired the refined taste and aesthetic values that are now the foundation of his own cuisine. He has travelled to Belgium, Spain, Monaco and other countries, and in Germany he has honed his skills in his own shops, where he has become a master of the harmonious balance of flavours, aromas and ingredients. Recently, he and his wife opened Győr's first vegan restaurant, Tioman, which has added a new colour to the city's gastronomic palette. Their aim is to create a restaurant where their guests can escape the grey everyday life, offering an unforgettable experience for the eyes and the taste buds. The message conveyed by the food is in line with Attila's favourite quote, "Every day give your body something good, something delicious, so that your soul may dwell in it with joy", which emphasises the importance of gastronomic delights and love for life.

  • Tomato essence, pine nut and basil ravioli, San Marzano brunoise 
  • Schrobenhausen asparagus risotto, parmesan chips
  • Pasta salad, chilli-mango salsa, black tiger prawns
  • Spanish carrot tartare with cardamom, tuna lolli
  • Cod loin wrapped in spicy breadcrumbs, potato gratin, saffron espuma, julienne vegetables with honey

Klaudia Varga and Martin Bárdy make a perfect couple not only in the pastry kitchen, but also in their private life. Their story is not very long, but it is colourful and dazzling! Their acquaintance began in Hungary, at a French dessert course, which led to a trip to France, where they studied and gained professional experience. It was here that their relationship deepened to the point of love. Klaudia spent a year abroad, while Martin spent a year and a half abroad, during which time they gained a wealth of valuable experience. Martin had previously gained professional experience as a pastry chef in Budapest's prestigious hotels. They both have exceptional creativity and a broad vision, precision and humility in their work. After returning home, they found jobs in popular places in Budapest: Martin in a Michelin-starred restaurant and Klaudia in one of the most prestigious Italian restaurants.

Key facts and information

Accommodation

There are 14 hotel rooms in the castle, but during the event you can only view them, not book them. If you want to book accommodation, please choose our partner hotel in Győr, Hotel****Garzon Plaza!

Parking

Free parking is available on the castle grounds and near the entrance. Our staff will help you find your way around and supervise the security of your vehicle during the event.

Foreign guests

The event is private. Access is restricted to invited and registered guests.
