It is first mentioned in written sources in the 13th century, where it appears under the name \u00d6ttev\u00e9ny, but its history goes back much further, archaeological finds show that the area was already inhabited in the Bronze Age. In the Middle Ages, the village was part of the Kom\u00e1rom Castle property, then it was depopulated in the Turkish period.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br class=\"clear\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"ppb_image_half_boxed_fixed_width one\" >\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div class=\"one_half content_middle fixed\" style=\"padding:0px; text-align:left;min-height:420px;\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_content\">\n<div class=\"ppb_header_content\">\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">The castle was built along the main Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest route in 1870 by Baron Mikl\u00f3s F\u00f6ldv\u00e1ry de Bern\u00e1tfalva (1840-1914), one of the greatest landowners of the time, for his wife, and has since become a symbol of the village. The building was originally a \"manor house\", but was extended in later years to become a castle. It was then inherited by Mikl\u00f3s F\u00f6ldv\u00e1ry's daughter Val\u00e9ria (1872-1964), who in 1895 married Count K\u00e1roly Cs\u00e1ky (1873-1945), who was then Minister of Defence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">Because of its location, the castle was a regular meeting place for the political elite of the time. According to legend, it was here that real decisions were taken on many matters of national importance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br class=\"clear\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"ppb_image_half_boxed_fixed_width one\" >\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div class=\"one_half content_middle fixed\" style=\"padding:0px; text-align:left;min-height:420px;\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_content\">\n<div class=\"ppb_header_content\">\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">Count Andor Cs\u00e1ky was born of their marriage. He was an art-loving magnate and, through his mother, the owner of land in \u00d6ttev\u00e9ny. In his early years he was first attracted to poetry and wrote poems, later he wrote economic articles, and finally he was most interested in photography. He then went on several study trips to Germany and France, where he became acquainted with the film production there. He also contacted the American film company by correspondence, with whom he consulted about his planned film.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">He was married three times, his first wife was Erzs\u00e9bet Ilona Cs\u00e1ky of K\u0151r\u00f6sszegh and Adorj\u00e1n (18 October 1900 - Budapest, 24 January 1974), whom he married on 28 March 1919 and with whom he had daughters: Andrea (born 25 April 1920), Szonja (born in Gy\u0151r, 15 December 1929), Andrea Augusta Vikt\u00f3ria. After their divorce on 5 April 1930, he married twice more: Maria Benz (born 21 March 1907) and later Marion K\u00e9gl (born January 1906).<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">In 1931, he shot a two-part (about 600 metres) silent short drama at his estate in \u00d6ttev\u00e9ny, with a cast of acting students, amateur actors and his staff.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br class=\"clear\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"one withsmallpadding ppb_header\" style=\"text-align:left;padding:30px 0 30px 0;\" >\n<div class=\"overlay_background\" style=\"background:#000000;background:rgb(0,0,0,1);background:rgba(0,0,0,1);\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div style=\"margin:auto;width:100%\">\n<h2 class=\"ppb_title\" style=\"\">Nowadays...<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"ppb_image_half_boxed_fixed_width one\" >\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div class=\"one_half content_middle fixed\" style=\"padding:0px; text-align:left;min-height:420px;\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_content\">\n<div class=\"ppb_header_content\">\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">In the middle of the 20th century, the building came into the ownership of the Waggonfabrik and served various functions, including emergency accommodation, a pharmacy and a nurses' home. \u00c9D\u00c1SZ Rt. bought the now derelict building in 1988, then spent four years restoring it to its original state and finally transformed it into a modern, 3-star hotel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">A few years later, the castle was bought by the world-famous Slovak tennis player Daniela Hantuchova, who carefully preserved and developed the building until the moment of its closure. During the renovation, the original character and style of the castle was preserved, so that it still reflects the atmosphere of the last century. In 2020, Covid put an end to its flourishing business.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br class=\"clear\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"ppb_image_half_boxed_fixed_width one\" >\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div class=\"one_half content_middle fixed\" style=\"padding:0px; text-align:left;min-height:420px;\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"content_middle_content\">\n<div class=\"ppb_header_content\">\n<p style=\"color: #374151; text-align: justify;\">After its closure, the old building sank into silent solitude for 2 years, which had a marked effect on its technical state, and the park became overgrown. In May 2023, it came into the ownership of the Matusz family from Gy\u0151r and development resumed.
