Enikő Kónya

Painter living in Szentendre. He started his artistic studies at a painting school in Zugló with Zsófia Varga, then he graduated from the painting department of the Secondary School of Fine and Applied Arts in Számalk-Szaléz, where his teachers were Andrea Cecilia Szabó, Nikoletta Kováts and János Zoltán Kovács.

His work reveals a highly experimental artist who is brave enough to explore multiple forms of image-making. There is a strong constructivist spirit behind his work and although this might seem to give his art a certain closure, in fact, if we step back from the concept and look only at the paintings themselves, we see that the construction of the pictorial content is light, soft and has an almost musical rhythm, just like the works of his predecessors in Szentendre, such as the work of his highly esteemed Dezső Korniss or the constructivist painting of Endre Bálint.

He is a member of the National Association of Hungarian Artists, and in 2024 he won the main prize of the Ferenc Kóka Inspiration Competition. His works regularly appear in solo and group exhibitions.

The painting an eventful, lifelong journey for me, equally full of bumps and bumps, as well as wonders and uplifting beauties.

This journey can be about wandering through external landscapes, lights, colours, forto learn about different tastes and moods, dreaming in a painting. Play, exciting discovery, passion. But sometimes all this is replaced by an inner journey, a confrontation with the sometimes painful, sometimes exhilarating revelations of searching the depths of the soul. These revelations can also take shape with the brush. These feelings, manifested in material form, can then be explored, loved or disliked, but they demand attention and attention, and this journey becomes the inner journey of the soul that wants to know itself. This journey of self-discovery through creation is as important to me as playing with the tangible reality of matter.

After the closing of the art colony, the works created at the colony will be on display for a month in the castle gallery building, by appointment.

A total of 14 artists can participate in the camp, each of whom will have a private double room with full luxury accommodation. The artists will be provided with a relaxed creative environment, while the evenings will be filled with pleasant round-table discussions, communal dinners and music. On special request, we can provide a custom-sized painting canvas.

In good weather, we plan to set up in the courtyard of the castle, and in bad weather in the interior of the castle. Of course, everyone is free to choose the location and the theme. We do not interfere with the artwork in any meaningful way.

We would like to ask the artists to buy the materials and tools for painting themselves, as everyone's tastes and habits are so different that we cannot help them.

Guests can of course also receive guests during their stay. However, we can only cater for guests for a fee. Artist guests are provided with full free board, breakfast, lunch and dinner, including soft drinks, coffee, wine and beer.

In the evenings, we plan spontaneous discussions, trying to provide sponsors and other interesting discussion partners.

The works of art created at the camp will be displayed in the Földváry Gallery's summer exhibition, where visitors will be able to view them on a permanent basis, and then auctioned off at a grand auction in the autumn, starting with the artist's starting price. The artist will receive the full knockdown price achieved at the auction.

In addition, artists are invited to donate a painting, also made at the art camp, to the Földváry Castle Foundation for. This artwork will be put up for a charity auction in the spring and the proceeds will be used to recruit nurses and improve their working conditions in the operating theatre wing of Győr Hospital. Currently, half of the operating theatres in the hospital are not working due to staff shortages, leaving many patients waiting months for the necessary procedures. The aim of this programme is to help improve the situation and contribute to a more efficient running of the hospital.

The Földváry Creative Workshop is an invitation-only programme, exclusively for invited artists. We are confident that the event will not only be an enriching artistic experience, but will also contribute to supporting a noble cause.

We welcome all participants and all those who are interested in the programme!
